Shapeshifting in Moonlight Peaks is story-gated — each form unlocks through specific quest progressions. Bat Form provides fast aerial travel across the entire map, drastically reducing transit time. Cat Form enables interaction with stray animals and reveals hidden items in town. Mermaid Form unlocks underwater exploration with exclusive resources. Farm animals (Draculams, Ghost Chickens, etc.) are adopted from the center and produce goods each night when fed. Animals have affection meters — higher affection increases product quality and value.

Bat Form makes the entire map accessible in seconds — no more walking between locations. Cat Form reveals hidden collectibles that are invisible otherwise. Mermaid Form opens exclusive underwater areas with unique resources and fish. Farm animals provide passive nightly income — feed them and collect goods each night. Animal affection directly impacts product value — well-cared animals produce premium goods worth more gold.

All three forms are story-locked — you can't rush them without progressing the main quest. Mermaid Form comes latest in the story, delaying underwater content. Farm animals require daily feeding — skip a night and they stop producing. Animal adoption and housing costs add up quickly. Cat Form's hidden item detection only works near the items — you still need to explore actively.
